Q- Discuss the prison motif in Wuthering Heights with reference to the various characters in the novel.

A – Lockwood – in the house with weather and Cathy’s screams. Isabella imprisoned by Heathcliff. Linton to leave his comfortable life of Thrush cross and stay a miserable life in Wuthering Heights. Cathy too is imprisoned by Heathcliff as his FIL. Nelly too by Heathcliff. Catherine is the only one who is free in the end and looks for freedom.
